Eh, not the worst day for guessing and not the best. Train was decent enough, leaving me with 2 yellow boxes and just 78 words remaining. Slope didnât really help as much as I needed it to, however, and I still had far too many words beginning with âSâ to rule out. I wasnât even sure the best way to do that so I guessed shift, which felt like a reasonable idea, and it was about as close to a good guess as you can get without guessing right. Just one word remained: smith for the win!

Total wash. 0 for guessing in four and 0 for tying the Bot.
Todayâs Wordle Etymology
The word “smith” has its origins in the Old English term “smiþ,” meaning “one who works in metal,” related to the Proto-Germanic *smithaz. This term is also related to the Gothic “smiþa,” Old High German “smid,” and Old Norse “smiðr,” all of which denote someone skilled in working with metal, such as a blacksmith, goldsmith, or weaponsmith. The root of this word is believed to be tied to the concept of smiting or striking, reflecting the blacksmith’s primary activity of hammering metal into shape. Thus, the term “smith” has always been closely associated with craftsmanship and the art of metalworking, dating back to a time when the ability to work metal was a highly valued and essential skill in many societies.
